HELP US CHOOSE OUR 2007 MENU—
YOU'RE INVITED TO THE FAB FOOD FEST PRE-TASTING PARTY!

The Fab Food Fest is the BNA's sole fundraising effort this year, and we want it to be a huge success for our neighborhood. We're revamping the Fest this year including the menu and location, and we're asking you to come to our pre-tasting party at the home of Beth and Dan Autrey at 4430 Brook Drive on Saturday, September 22 @ 7pm to taste some of our old favorites and to vote on some new dishes. There's no cost for this party, just come out and enjoy a fun evening with your neighbors. If you're one to jump in head first, bring one of your favorite culinary masterpieces to throw in the ring (so to speak) for consideration.

Here's how the party will work:

  • Come by Beth and Dan's house at 7pm and taste the dishes that we're considering for the 2007 Fab Food Fest. We'll provide you with the means to rate your favorites. We encourage you to bring your own adult beverages (BYOB).

  • If you want to (remember this is optional) submit one of your signature dishes for consideration to be included in this year's Fab Food Fest, here's what we're looking for:

    1. Dishes that can be frozen and reheated well. As in previous years, we'll also offer baked goods, so bring along your favorite goodies to sample.

    2. Dishes that are not too complicated/complex to make. We will have 3-4 volunteer group cook sessions in November to prepare and freeze our menu items for the bake sale.

    3. Dishes that taste great, but are not too expensive to make (this is a fundraiser after all).

    4. Print and bring the recipe(s) to the party. Also, please give us an idea about the quantity and the cost of the recipe.

  • This is a big one. We're hoping to recruit volunteers at this party to help us with this year's bake sale. We'll have sign-up sheets for neighbors to volunteers for:

    The group cooking shifts;
    Donating baked goods for the day of the sale;
    Setting up / tearing down the event at Banner Hall;
    Taking a shift for the kids' reading / story time at Lemuria Books; or
    Promoting the event.

  • Here is the list of dishes that we are keeping on the menu for this year's bake sale:

    1. Chicken pot pie with rosemary biscuits
    2. Sweet potato casserole
    3. Spinach Madeline
    4. Sausage and grits casserole
    5. Sweet corn souffle

We hope to see you on the 22nd at 7pm. Email >>> Chris Crothers if you have any questions. Thanks!
