WARD ONE ELECTIONS THIS TUESDAY (8.14)
SO, GET OUT AND VOTE!
Ben Allen has left the building, and—like Elvis—he will be missed by many of his fans. Like him or not, he was involved, he was available, and he cared about Ward One and the city of Jackson. We need you to cast your vote and find the best possible replacement for our ward.
We will not assume to tell you who to vote for, this is your vote and your decision, but this election is important to Broadmeadow. Did you know that we are the only part of Fondren that lies in Ward One? Yup, it's true. And there is a lot riding on this election.
From Adam Lynch's article Replacing Ben: Four Men Compete in a Changing Ward in the Jackson Free Press:
"Ward 1 is one of the more wealthy and educated in the city, and contains the largest proportion of high-end businesses and homeowners. The ward is one of the chief revenue generators for the city, in terms of money from property and sales tax, and plays a large role in city politics with one of the biggest voting populations in the city."
